If we were asked when the happiest moment in our lives is, most of the answers would be some special moments, such as family vacation, the time when they got promoted, birthday party and so on. However, we do also feel great amount of happiness in everyday life and one best way to promote your happiness is setting a goal. Setting a goal can make us feel alive, relish the feeling of accomplishment, and help us to forget about unreasonable worries.

First of all, people who set their goals, whether it is something big or small, are more likely to live a full life. Think about people who don't have any reason or willingness to live their lives, such as the homeless or depressives. Although they might have own reasons, they always feel helpless and insecure. On the contrary, people who set goals and try to accomplish their goals, their lives are full of hopes and will because they work toward a goal they have established.

Setting a goal can also make us relish the feeling of accomplishment. If we only "set" the goals and do not "accomplish" them, it would be meaningless and only make us feel regretful. This is why we try to achieve our goals after setting them. From the short termed goals such as to clean the room or to finish writing homework, to the long termed goals such as to buy a car, to have a happy family of our own, or to get a job we want, all the goals give us a great feelings of accomplishment when they are achieved.

Lastly, our goals can help us to forget about minor concerns and worries in our lives. Every day and time, we suffer from anxiety because of a lot of worries we have. When we were a student, we worry about exam scores, and when we get a job we think about promotions, and we always have anxieties about relationships with family or friends. But, if we have our own goals to accomplish, we usually tend to focus on them so we would soon forget about those worries that would never going to happen.

In conclusion, it is a good idea to set your goals since it helps you to feel alive, to have the feelings of accomplishments and to put your concerns out of your mind. Happiness is not what is hard to get. So, what about start from setting daily goals for today? Although it might seem as nothing from now, it will give you great happiness in the future.

  1. Very well written. I can conclude that, the cause of setting a goal will give us effects such as : feeling alive, feeling accomplished, and also forgetting our worries. I believe you elaborated 3 effects based on 1 cause. Adding more causes will make it interesting. Good Job

  2. From Ahn Sang-wook to Lee Sun-min
    1. Your main point is this: Setting a goal makes you feel happiness, and it is well-written and legible. In fact, I did not expect that happiness could come from the setting of a goal. I reassure myself of the fact that the cause of happiness is so various.
    2. The most impressive sentence for me is this: If we only "set" the goals and do not "accomplish" them, it would be meaningless and only make us feel regretful. Because this is what common people do including me and other students.(I personally think like this.).
    3. I know the writing is a quite subjective activity but there’s something that I do not agree with. Why setting a goal makes you stay away from anxiety? I think this depends on each one.
    4. As Chan Lan already remarked, it will be better if you add more causes.

  3. 2nd Draft :

If we were asked when the happiest moment in our lives is, most of the answers would be some special moments, such as family vacation, the time when they got promoted, birthday party and so on. However, we do also feel great amount of happiness in everyday life. If you are not really enjoying your happiness from daily lives, here are some ways to promote your happiness: setting your daily goals, enjoying your feelings of accomplishment, and forgetting about minor concerns.

First of all, people who set their goals, whether it is something big or small, are more likely to live a full life. Think about people who don’t have any reason or willingness to live their lives, such as the homeless or depressives. Although they might have their own reasons, they always feel helpless and insecure. On the contrary, people who set goals and try to accomplish their goals, their lives are full of hopes and wills because they work toward a goal they have established. Therefore, try to set your daily or weekly, monthly goals that can motivate you. Then you will become to enjoy your vibrant and energetic days.

Setting a goal can also make us relish the feeling of accomplishment, which is one of the biggest elements of happiness. If we only “set” the goals and do not “accomplish” them, it would be meaningless and only make us feel regretful. As a result, we try to achieve our goals after setting them. From the short termed goals such as to clean the room or to finish writing homework, to the long termed goals such as to buy a car, to have a happy family of our own, or to get a job we want, all the goals give us a great feelings of accomplishment when they are achieved.

Lastly, forget about minor concerns and worries in our lives. Every day and time, we suffer from anxiety because of a lot of worries we have. When we were a student, we worry about exam scores, and when we get a job we think about promotions, and we always have anxieties about relationships with family or friends. But, as there is a saying “90 percent of your worries never happen,” try not to care too much about those worrying affairs. Just enjoy and be thankful for every moment of your days. Then you will soon forget about your worries and become optimistic. Remember, life is too short to worry about small things; just enjoy what you have today.

In conclusion, it is a good idea to set your goals since it helps you to have the feelings of accomplishments, and to put your concerns out of your mind. Happiness is not what is hard to get. So, what about start from setting daily goals for today? Although it might seem as nothing from now, it will give you great happiness in the future.
