Ahn Sang-wook/timed essay/tue 9am

Timed essay
Ahn Sang-wook.

We, human beings, are working for earning money that is necessary for maintaining our quality of lives. At the same time, we are losing our time that can be used as leisure. By the way, more and more people in these days inevitably put so much time in working while shrinking the time for fun. Is it okay for people to live like this way? I cannot agree with the idea. Followings are the reasons why.

Firstly, In case of jobs, even though people are working more and more with a decrease of leisure time, there is a limitation on an increase of effectiveness. Working constantly without proper leisure time that makes our body and mental fresh cannot produce a desired output in working. This just makes both employers and employees stressed out. Abandoning precious leisure time, people work more and more but it is not productive at all.

Secondly, we, human beings, were born with certain unalienable rights: the pursuit of Happiness. Most people feel satisfied when they feel a kind of happiness which is derived from leisure. I also admit that few people feel happy while they work. However, given the fact that the majority of people are not, working less can make us happy and that is the way we keep our rights!

Finally, excessive working hours definitely undermine the quality of people's lives. If people cannot take enough leisure time, they increasingly feel stressed at the fact that they have nowhere to feel comfortable, happy, satisfied, and abundant, because they are surrounded by works to do. They cannot enjoy their own lives. Maybe they will end up dying even doing some works.

To sum up, people should have more leisure time that offers us to feel happy. It is because we have rights to pursue our happiness and we should keep quality of our lives to some extent. Moreover, given the fact that increasing working hours cannot boost the effectiveness and productiveness, we have to change our lives.
