By developing technologies, we can easily watch film and listen to music whatever we want through the internet without going to cinema and music concert.
This gives us more convenience than before. However, it brings up problem of infringing intellectual property. Nowadays, it seems much more severe than we think. So, there has been a ceaseless conflict between protection of intellectual property and the human's right of using materials.
As the infringement of intellectual property is a kind of crime, the penalties for IPR infringement should be heavier.
Intellectual property is also human's right so we should protect it. Many musicians and film makers put their all efforts and their imagination, their own thinking into their product. So, when people download their music or film for free through the internet, it's definitely huge infringement of their intellectual property right.
They have right to protect their thought, their product and their creative things from being used without any payment for their intellectual product.
However, many people insist that they have also right to use materials through the internet whatever they want. They assert this right, so there has been a ceaseless conflict between two rights.
Of course we can use and have right to use materials. However, the important point is to pay for the product. As intellectual property is an important product, we have to pay for it. So, if we do, there has no problem for human's right to using materials.
Then how about the penalties? The penalties for IPR should be much heavier.
For example, one chinese internet site makes everyone easily download all sort of korean dramas without any payment. I wonder if this site is allowed to do this, maybe not. Korean government should know this situation and make make solutions for infringement of IPR.
The infringement of intellectual property is not just our problem but also a country's issue.
Especially, as Korean drama has great popularity in all Asian countries, we cannot ignore of it.
Intellectual property is not an invisible right but visible right. So, we must try to do in order to protect it by ourselves. One small behavior can make big changes. If each person has responsibility for using other person's intellectual product and act a behavior with responsibility, we can easily catch two important human's rights, intellectual property right and the right of using materials.
