When I was preparing high school entrance exam, our family made a big decision to get rid of television from our house. For the first few months, it was awkward to stay in the living room without television. However, as the time gone by, we realized that we could actually live without a TV, even in a better way.

When we had TV, we wasted our free time staring at a TV even though we were not really interested in that program. But after we ruled out our TV, we had no choice but to find new things to do. We made new hobbies like listening to music or climbing the mountain. Moreover, our family started to have a family time; we started to have conversations and sometimes we played games, too. We ended up spending our free time in a lot more meaningful ways.

It may seem so impossible to get rid of TV from their living room to some people. It seems like TV has just been there from the very beginning. However, getting rid of TV actually is a very good idea. You absolutely can live without TV, and it even enriches your life.

  1. I like your essay. The sentence structure is simple, and it's easy to read it. Also your essay is really touching. You shared your experience and how it affected not only your life but on your family as well.
i think you'd better to avoid repetitions like "TV" or "we", try to find alternative way of using it.
Thank you, and wish you luck:)

  2. I like your personal experience about getting rid of TV for entrance exam, because we all encountered similar situation for the sake of greater concentration on study. I mean your example is very touching and common, so everbody can easily sympathize with it.
However you only focused on a negative point about living with TV. For example, TV can give us useful informations in documentary film or news. Getting rid of TV means those positive side will go away together. If you dealt with those matters it would be better.
In general, it is easy to read and touching.
