The Forbes reported that 1.9 billion dollars has been spent for televising advertisements during the Super Bowl events for last ten years. Most of marketers want to televise the advertisement at that time. That means TV ad is effective, and many people watch TV in their daily lives. Some people claims that the effectiveness of TV is constantly reducing, and someday new media such as laptop, smartphone, and tablet PC will totally replace TV because of its huge size and one-sided communication, but I am against it. TV will remain as a solid medium, such as e-book cannot totally replace paper books.

First of all, TV provides public confidence. People trust the content which is televised better than which is not. On the period of election, although many people produce several videos endorsing the candidates they want, all of these videos are less effective than TV.

Second reason is that people have nostalgia for classic media such as TV, radio and newspaper. 30 years ago when MTV was first launched, it televised the song of The Buggles for the first time, Video Killed the Radio Star. Although the radio industry has been declined, the industry still remains.

I really like your hook. starting with Forbes was make it feel powerful. It strengthen your idea. Also your Idea of having nostalgia from classic media, I totally agree with it. your word choice was very nice. But I think it would be better if you write the conclusion too. Conclusion make your essay organized. Also the first paragraph have too many sentence. If this two problems are solved, it would be better essay.

  2. To Hwanhee Rhee From Ju Hye CHoi / TV

    1. What I like about this piece of writing is that you have a strong hook and you gave two great examples for the body paragraph.
    2. Your main point seems to be that TV provides public confidence and people have nostalgia for TV, radios and newspapers.
    3. These particular words or lines struck me as powerful:
'TV will remain as a solid medium, such as e-book cannot totally replace paper books.' This line really hooked my attention.
    4. The one change you could make that would make the biggest improvement in this piece of writing is I think adding a conclusion and having a longer body paragraph. Other than that, it was a pleasure to read :)
