TV: Could you do without it?

People in modern societies have been exposed to TV media. It is quite true that TV provides viewers with important information from around the world. The information coming from TV is either very useful or sometimes harmful; TV shows often contain undesirable contents such as biased opinions and violent scenes. Regardless of its possible harmful effects on viewers, people in favor of TV roles strongly believe that we cannot live without TV. However, I think the answer for the question is yes. The thing is that we can get all types of information that we have achieved through TV by any other sources. We can easily figure out what is happening from place to place by reading newspapers. Useful knowledge about any sort of subject can be easily found in books. Most importantly, whatever we can easily get through TV is very likely to go away from us, simply because we just acquire it too easily. In terms of entertaining parts, it goes without saying that there are enough activities for us to enjoy instead of sitting in front of TV sets and wasting our time.

  2. I also had a similar reason for televisions being unnecessary, which were the aspect of violence and obscenity that children and teenagers can be exposed to. After having lived without telelvision for a few years, I also realized that there were other activities to do such as working out in the gym, hanging out with friends, or doing any other hobbies of your own preference. I think your view on television and its effects are strongly conveyed in your writing. Good job ;)

  3. I think you made your point clear with supportive reasons. I like that you covered the both informative and entertaining aspect of TV. Also, I like the expression “exposed” because it is quite true that TV is so common we sometimes watch it unconsciously. Great job!
